In response to the Coronavirus outbreak, many of us are having to spend a lot more time at home than we usually would. It is more important than ever to keep the energy of our homes clear and positive.

During lockdown(s), homes which were previously relaxing places, a safe place to escape to at the end of the day, have had to become the workplace, the gym, the school classroom, the cafe, the meeting room, the pub, the rehearsal space, and so much more, all in one go, and for the whole family at once.

The various environments of our normal daily activities have been condensed into our living spaces, which can be stressful and draining. So It's really important to be clearing the energy of your space regularly.

Any kind of cleansing will refresh the space and clear away any stress or disorganisation that you might be feeling.

Even simply making sure you get the windows open, and get some fresh air and sunlight flowing through the space, can make a world of difference.

You can smudge with Sage, Incense, or Palo Santo; or you could try using a singing bowl, drums, or bells to sound-cleanse your home. Whichever method works for you, be sure to do it between activities to clear the energy of the previous task, and set the intentions for the next.

For example, if you are working at home, you might be finding it difficult to separate the feeling of work-time from down-time now that everything happens in the same space.

A quick smudge with your sage stick at the end of a day's work will help to clear the energy and get ready for a nice relaxing evening.

Taking five minutes to mentally step back from one energetic place and move into the next will really help you to feel more in control, and therefore less stressed, in your environment.

Use crystals, too, to energetically distinguish between different activities. Fluorite can help with organisation at work, and Clear Quartz will help you to focus.

You could pick one crystal that you want to use as a work-time crystal, one for exercising, one for relaxation, or any other activities that you need to distinguish between in your own new routine.

Put the crystal in a significant place (like the centre of the coffee table, or the mantelpiece) whilst you undertake the activity that you have aligned it with, allowing its energy to help you focus on that activity.

When you are done and it's time to move on to the next part of your day - perhaps you'd normally be coming home from the office, or heading to the gym, leaving a meeting, doing the housework - burn your sage and consciously swap to the next crystal for the next activity.

This is a great way to own the energy of your space and keep yourself feeling positive and on top of things.

And when it's time to relax of an evening, light a crystal tealight holder to create a calming vibe and help you to remember that your home is still your safe relaxation space that it always was!

Here are some ideas for different ways to use your crystals at home:

This could be something as simple as a desk space - for example Fluorite is great for organisation, so a piece of that teamed with a Clear Quartz in front of it pointing in towards the desk, could help you to focus and get organised at work.

In a semi-circle around the edges of the desk, add a Carnelian for creativity, a Tiger's eye for confidence, a Shungite for protection from EMS from your computer, a Blue Lace Agate for communications, and a Tourmaline for overall protection, and you've got yourself one high-vibing workspace.

You might want to grid a larger space, such as a bedroom, or even a whole house.

Use the same principles- choose the crystals you think will benefit you and your chosen space, and place them logically and with intention around the perimeters of the space to channel their energies into it.

You might be interested in the idea of using crystals around the house, but a grid seems a bit overwhelming or inaccessible.

Try placing different crystals in different rooms to alter and enhance the different vibes.

Rose Quartz is great for the bedroom, it is calming and loving and warm. It will attract and help to maintain love. Red jasper or Carnelian bring a fieriness that can be good for passion in the bedroom. Amethyst is good for sleep.

The positive and sunny energy of Citrine can be nice in the kitchen, to bring an uplifting boost to the space where you prepare your sustenance and source of such enjoyment - your food! A happy and uplifted kitchen spaces always makes for delicious food.

Smokey Quartz, Fluorite, Agate and Amethyst are good for the living room, to bring stress-relief, stability, balance and calm. Selenite is another good crystal for the living space as it will raise the vibration and charge the energy of the room if needed.

As the master cleanser, Clear Quartz is great for the bathroom - a room of cleansing and rejuvenation. Use Clear Quartz to enhance your morning shower into a daily cleansing ritual. A nice relaxing bath demands a Rose Quartz crystal to really help you indulge in self-care.

If you have children, the calming energies of Celestite in their bedrooms can help them to feel safe, secure and peaceful in their space.

A piece of black Tourmaline above or around the front door will bring protection for the whole house.

Sending love and positive energy to you all,
