HAPPY NEW YEAR

2020. A new year. A new decade. For so many people this is a powerful time of new beginnings and fresh starts. Plans for the new year ahead. Reflections over 2019 and how we can make 2020 so much better.

Normally I'm not really the kind of person who jumps on the band wagon of new years' resolutions, dramatic declarations of change or huge goal setting. I normally prefer to let things take shape organically. I like to start things when it naturally feels like a good time for something fresh, when I'm getting lots of signs from the Universe to say now is clearly time for the start of a new project, when it just feels right. And the 1st of January isn't always that time.

But an amazing thing happened to me this year. The end of the year 2019 really did feel like the closing of one chapter, with the beginnings of something new just around the corner. I could really join in with the New Years Resolution feeling, knowing I'm going to make something incredible happen. Everything seems to have come together perfectly for a huge boost in focus and drive.

So what exactly is it that I'm going to make happen? Put bluntly, I'm not sure! I know that now is the time for me to compile everything I've learnt on my Copper Myst journey so far, and start to expand this little business in a focused and dedicated way. I am upping my game, I can't say what the result will be this time next year, but I can promise that Copper Myst just got a whole lot more direction and organisation.

2019 saw me go from making my Electroformed jewellery in my 'studio corner' in my living room, to stocking lots of extra items, expanding my market and craft fair stall to something I could never have imagined (there have been times when my stall could measure up against any small shop!), opening my website, getting my studio space, and then to realising that through all of the exciting changes I'd strayed a little from what should have always been the main focus of Copper Myst - my craft. By the end of 2019 I was stripping things back to basics again, so that now Electroformed Crystal jewellery will always be the main focus of Copper Myst.

Over the last year I have learnt more about how I want to run this little business, what I want it to look like and what I need it to do. I feel confident talking about Copper Myst, what it represents, what I do. And I really feel ready for the next big steps. Just in time for the new decade!

So for me, it really is a happy new year. And a very focused one. I've taken a step back from social media to focus on planning, learning, and preparing for the exciting year ahead.

I'm starting this blog, where you'll get lots of behind the scenes insights, crystal info, product showcases, and just generally exciting Copper Myst related posts! I've set up my mailing list, so that you can follow Copper Myst by receiving updates straight to your inbox, and be kept up to date with special offers, collection launches, and upcoming events. And I'm working on my branding and imagery with a snazzy new camera and a website overhaul.

Basically, it's time for everything to come together.
